Test Gasification Steam System

Calculations

Volume of outer tank (when empty) with height of 2.5 = (3.14)(1.52 )/4×2.5 =4.4 cubic meters

Volume of inner tank (when empty) with height of 25 = (3.14)(1.25*1.25)/4*2.5 = 3.1 cubic meters

Volume of empty annulus=volume of water = 1.3 cubic meters

Hence mass of water in annulus = mass of steam produced=1300 kg

Steam flow rate = mass of steam produced and used/total reaction time (if you don’t want to buy steam flow meter)

If you don’t use all water, subtract amount of water left from initial amount put in the tank. Makeup water is water added to replace steam when annulus is running dry.

Take note: steam-to-feed ratio is maintained at 0.33 to 2.2 maximum
